For the first time in India, dogs get a park all to themselves in Bengaluru

News Category:

Posted on December 26, 2016: Up until recently, pet parents have no option but to take their dogs to ‘human-only’ parks. Dogs, however, need parks which specially cater to them. True to its name ‘Garden City’ Bengaluru has led the way for off-leash dog parks in India. This park in Whitefield Park in Bengaluru, covering an area of 16,000 square feet, boasts the amenities to keep dogs hale and hearty. PetBoro, a company into pet resorts and kennelling, is the brainchild behind this dog park. It’s touted to be the first off-leash dog park in India.

Ambience and activities

This fenced-in park has walk ramps, hoops, canine crawls, stepping paws, see-saws for dogs, weave posts and last but not the least, a comfortable resting table where they can enjoy a rest after play. There is a shaded area where the dogs can get respite from the sun, especially on summer days. It has been designed for dogs of various shapes and sizes. Dogs older than four months are allowed into the park. They need to be updated with their vaccinations, bereft of ticks and fleas and well behaved in their demeanour. Not only can dogs get some good exercise there but it’s the perfect place where they can learn myriad tricks. The infrastructure in this park is excellent to hone the agility of the dogs. Dogs can freely run around unleashed in this park. Simultaneously, they’ll be able to bond with fellow canines. Dog parties and field trips may also be arranged at this venue.

Pet parents along with their dog can avail of all the amenities of the park by paying a charge of Rs200 per hour. Major credit cards are accepted for payment as well. To avoid overcrowding of the park there’s an upper limit of the time spent at the park. Only 15 dogs can be present at the dog park at a time so that each dog has enough place to run around in playful mode (in the case of doggy parties more canines are permitted in a park). You may book a time slot for your dog online. There’s a limit on the number of annual members at this park. Pet parents who want to bring over their dog regularly to this park will be able to avail of discounts.

The recent grand opening of this park was a huge success. Families attended it along with their dogs. They cheerfully clicked pictures with their favourite pets.
